I don't know Mr.Mathis' original statement, therefore I refrain from 
commenting (let alone judging) his ideological message he may have 
shared with us.
However, his above (abbreviated) statement certainly doesn't constitute
harrassment of any kind in any country I have lived in (Austria, Germany, 
France, USA so far)

If what he writes in his - above - statement is true (which I can't 
verify and therefore am not to judge), YOUR actions might quite likely 
have constituted the fact of harrassment, though.

If you don't like your opinions being argued, maybe you should consider 
refraining from posting in news groups?

....and to be sure and make that absolutely clear (not knowing the

     After thesis and antithesis being presented, it is easy for me to 
come up with the synthesis:
     - the place of birth is the least satisfactory definition: includes 
people who do not want to belong, excludes people who belong. We shall 
not confound citizenship with national/ethnic association ( ie. 
"Hungarianness")Sorry, Peter, birthplace is wrong in both ways- even if 
most Hungarians live in Hungary, and most Hungarian citizens consider 
themselves Hungarians.
     - it would be nice, if Hungarianness were something of a unique 
essence, a Holy Grail , a quality reduced to its own core, etc. But it 
is not: it consists - in case of each person "Hungarian" -of a variable 
and unique mix of ancestry, language, residence, culture, solidarity 
with causes perceived as Hungarian, affiliations of different nature, 
etc. Sorry, Gotthard, we cannot avoid the details.
     - everybody who claims to be Hungarian- but not, repeat not! 
regardless of...etc.- but because of all those above!!! And people have

too(variations on the theme), -like Hungarian Armenians,Hungarian 
Jews,Americans,! etc., and not something else !
     This may seem as fuzzy, untidy, confused- but there is nothing 
better, and ultimately I agree with Andy Vadasz " Hungarian is who 
claims to be Hungarian- Magyar az aki magyarnak vallja magat " !
     Beyond that: "melymagyar/higmagyar" - now and then much abused -  
ultimately -unintentionally- damaging concept of Nemeth Laszlo; the 
notion of "good Hungarian person ( "jo magyar ember") - to which Tamasi 
Aron's answer was " aki  pedig embernek hitvany, az magyarnak 
alkalmatlan"( a scoundrel is not fit to be Hungarian).
     Ultimately the question " Mi a magyar ?" lead to many heated and 
ultimately unproductive debates, without solving the mistery- let us 
accept everybody's word on his/her own "magyarsag"("Hungarianness")
