Sugar tush, the only thing that comes to my mind reading your pseudo poetry in

Huh, that's a good one! Ignor Gazdik just forgot to mention that both
banks are now well in Slovakia in the questionable section of the river.

You really believe that any part of any country/nation-state that was
annexed after WW1 had anything to do with what the inhabitants wanted?
You only express yourself in terms of Romanian nationalistic interests
and propaganda.

There isn't any *official* Hungarian claim to Transylvania. A few loud
irredentists, a lot of sympathy for Hungarian speakers and culture in
Transylvania, but not an official agenda. Do you know about some secret
Hungarian government policy to take back Transylvania?? You really are
paranoid about Transylvania going back to the Hungarians, aren't you?
BTW both Hungary and Romania are going to be nothing more pawns, buffer
states, cannon fodder, for the main players in the big game

Golly, you really do need to convince yourself, don't you? I recall in
Britain just before the Yugoslav crisis really took off how everyone was
just saying *aahhh, it'll all blow over in a few weeks...just a bunch of
hotheads; they'll be sorted out soon*.... and what happened? What about all
the Allies at the beginning of WWII that were caught napping, smug in their
coviction that either war wouldn't happen or their extant defences would
suffice anyway? Hahahahahaha...

Milosevic, along with his nationalist/mafia cronies, etc, engineered the
whole split. It was Milosevic who created the riot in Belgrade to effect
a state of emergency and mobilise the federal army..etc etc... do some
homework, but don't report back to me.

It also requires as Tudjman and an Izebegovich. Those three men feed

Yaawwn...I've been over this ground so often during the last few years
that it has become boring to listen to parrots dutifully reciting typical
propaganda. You obviously know nothing about the Yugoslav crisis or simply
choose to follow propaganda that fits your nationalist agenda. A complete
Waste of time.

Yes, atrocities were committed on all sides, but it was Milosevic who
personally ordered the first massacres on the initial attack on eastern
Slavonia. Mladic personally ordered the shelling of civilians in Sarajevo
and supervised the Srjebenica massacre (among everything else,) Karadzic
(just a peacetime mafia crook anyway) personally took part in the Sarajevo
shellings...etc, this gave the lead to all the thugs on ALL sides as to
how the war was to be conducted (nothing new to the Balkans, of course.)
At the beginning several foreign journalists were so appalled at the
disgusting way the Serb forces were conducting themselves that they took
up arms against them. You seem like an apologist for the Serbs. Fits your
nationalistic interests, does it?

about the possibilities of border changes in general and in reply you
repeat your nationalistic slogans. My sympathies...

sometimes (= mostly) it is really boring to read your lines.
the reason is one and only: lack of decency and reasoning
ability. the danube has not moved one millimeter from the
original bed. and in the middle of the riverbed runs the
border. i think it is hard to expelin this to you, as your
great hobby is badmouthing others, using no matter what kind
of demagoguery. by both banks i mean the slovak side, and the
maly zitny ostrov side (in hu). had the hungarian part not
pulled down the circular dam, hungarians would now be lining up
on the slovak border to go and kiss the hands of the slovaks
who have built a marvelous works like this for the benefit of
hungary. instead, you send lamebrains to slovakia, to take
advantage of a much more liberal system and demonstrate there.

I have a suggestion: get yourselves a bunch of dictionaries and spend a
few hours looking all this up. If you have to post each other, leave
SCM out of it. WE ARE NOT INTERESTED. I repeat, WE ARE NOT INTERESTED.
Your cooperation would be greatly appreciated.

No problems here. In fact, if there is anything that I could do to further
such a mutually beneficial friendship, please outline it.

Also, considering the populations involved in our two countries, are
Hungarians really ready to be a large minority ruled a majority of the time
by Romanians?

There is a great deal of difference between helping to get MFN status
permanent, not hindering it, and opposing it. As I understand your post,
you are opposing it. This is not the same as a refusal to reward. The
continuance of the Jackson-Vanik arrangements with respect to Romania is
a tempting one from your perspective I can see. But what will happen
if, like in Hungary, an anti-communist government is followed by a
communist one based on backlash? Having, in the meantime, supported
permanent MFN would you then lobby to reinstate annual reviews? I think
that MFN is a weak reed to base positive American influence on Romanian
policy to respect the rights of all Romanians.

I share your hopes that the next government of Romania will be a better
one. I do think that you should reconsider advocating group rights for
Romania (recommendation 1201). I do not think that you wish to put your
fellow hungarians in Romania on the same socio-legal footing as blacks
"enjoy" in America. This would, long-term, lead to increased tensions
between our communities in Transylvania, not increased harmony, something
that I hope we both agree would be a disaster for all concerned.
